Misha’s Vineyard The Gallery Gewurztraminer 2021, Central Otago

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 23-Nov-2021
Bright, pale straw-yellow with some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is voluminous, filled with exotic fruit aromas of lychee, dragon fruit interweave jasmine, rose petals, ginger and tajin. Medium-bodied, mouth-filling nuances of lychee, dragon fruit along with poached pear, elevated by jasmine blossom, rose petals and ginger, linger with tajin spice to a long, elegant finish. The flavours are well-proportioned, charmingly weaved and integrated with a juicy acid line. Oily and unctuous mouthfeel carries fine-textured phenolics and spice, leaving the palate salivating. This is an immensely charming, elegant Gewurztraminer with balanced concentration and acidity, exotic fruit purity, floral and spice. Match with light fish curry and spicy prawn linguine over the next 4-6 years. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in older French oak barrels with 50% wild yeast and 50% commercial yeast, 14% alc, 4.9 g/l RS. 19-/20 pts (95 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $35
