Misha’s Vineyard Limelight Riesling 2018, Central Otago

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 16-Oct-2020
Bright, pale straw-yellow with a light lime hue, lighter on the rim. Vibrant bouquet, freshly squeezed lime juice and zest, melded with lime flowers and mouthwatering minerals, intermix an attractive petroleum note. Medium-dry, medium-light bodied, the palate is bright and vivid, nuances of fresh lime juice and zest interweave lime flowers and honey, adorned by crisp minerals. The wine is fresh and perfectly-balanced with fresh acidity and residual sugar lends a rounded mouthfeel. Lively acid leads a focus and crisp drive, lingering to a long and thirst-quenching finish. This is a well-balanced off-dry Riesling with flavours of zesty lime and flower with honey and crunchy minerality. Match with crispy bacon and salt-cured fish over the next 3-5 years. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, 78% free-run juice fermented in stainless steel to 11% alc, 33 g/l RS. The remaining juice fermented in older French oak. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Oct 2020 RRP $30
