Review Date : 26-Jan-2026
Bright, deep ruby-red, even colour throughout. The nose is gently full, with aromas of dark cherry, plum, rose and an amalgam of spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of dark cherry and young plum melded with rose, unfolding cinnamon and mocha. The wine is youthful and juicy with an immediate appeal. The succulent fruit, enriched by spice, and silky tannin provide richness and an amiable finish. Handpicked, transferred into open-top fermenters with 20% whole bunches approx. Warm slowly over 5-7 days to allow natural yeast fermentation, hand-plunged 2-3 times per day, post-ferment maceration, average 25 days on skins. Aged in 300-litre French oak barrels, 13% new oak. Match with lamb koftas and duck rillette over the next 3-5 years. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Jan 2026 RRP $35
