Mischief North Canterbury Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-May-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the edge. The nose is fresh and gently full with aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, hints of pears along with notes of exotic florals and hints of nuts and suggestions of minerals. This is clean and refreshing. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has elegant but up-front flavours of white and yellow stonefruits intermixed with exotic florals and pear notes. The fruit is open and accessible and forms an easy heart with some body and presence, and flows along a smooth line with lacy acidity lending tension and energy. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish. This is an up-front off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit floral and pear flavours with good presence and a fresh mouthfeel. Match with mildly spicy Middle Eastern fare over the next 3 years. The label depicts the Kea. North Canterbury fruit fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 May 2018 RRP $22.00
