Mills Reek ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 09-Aug-2011
Pale straw-yellow colour with a pale edge. This has a softly fresh bouquet of ripe gooseberry fruits with some minerally notes, pure and clean in expression. Dry to taste, this is fresh, vibrant and lively on palate with excellent acidity underlining the moderately intense, soft English gooseberry fruit flavours. The wine is medium-weighted and very accessible, with a subtle, zesty finish. Fruit from the coastal ‘Church Block' in Meeanee, Hawke's bay, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc., and 0.75 g/L rs, and given some lees contact. Serve with antipasto, seafood, white meat and subtle Asian cuisine over the next two years. 16.5+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $24.95
