Mills Reef ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 03-Jul-2014
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues on edge. The nose is gently full and broad with soft, ripe aromas of white stonefruits and tropical fruits along with white floral and fennel detail and a delicate waxy, lanolin-like note. Dryish to taste, soft ripe white stonefruits are entwined with fennel and herbal notes, the flavours underlined by a subtle waxy, lanolin richness and unctuousness. The palate is guided by a very fine, chalky-textured core, and lifted freshened by soft, ripe acidity, carrying through to a plush finish. This is a soft-textured, ripe Sauvignon Blanc with white stonefruits and herb flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and poultry over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the Crownthorpe district, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., in an off-dry style, the wine aged on lees for a short period. 17.0+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $23.00
