Mills Reef Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Dec-2013
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full and voluminous with ripe yellow stonefruit aromas lifted by fresh esters, some honeysuckle and a little flintiness. Dry to taste, this is soft and dry in texture with restrained stonefruit and flinty flavours. The mouthfeel is one of textures and vinosity, with good palate line carried by penolics and acidity leading to a dry, light and clean finish. This is a dry Pinot Gris with full aromas and a dry, textural mouthfeel in the Pinot Grigio style. Match with antipasto, tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the Maraekakaho and Crownthorpe districts of Hawke’s Bay, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. 16.0+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $18.95
