Mills Reef Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Feb-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is light with fresh and straightforward yellow stonefruit aromas enriched by soft honey and creamy nuances. Dryish to off-dry in taste and moderately weighted, light apricot and stonefruit kernel flavours show with juiciness and good palate presence. A smooth, honied and creamy mouthfeel provide richness to the textures, with the fresh acidity emerging on the back palate to provide a clean, balanced, lively finish. This is a clean, light-flavoured, dryish Chardonnay with a softly fresh mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto, tapas and white meats over the next 2 years. Fruit from a site in the Crownthorpe district, stainless-steel fermented with 10% in oak barrels to 12.5% alc., with 10% MLF. Made in an off-dry style. 16.0+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $18.95
