Bright, even straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-green hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is fresh with tight aromas of gooseberries, fragrant herbs and snow peas, entwined with nettles, cut grass, revealing fresh fermentation esters. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate possesses elegantly concentrated flavours of aromatic gooseberries, cut grass, nettle and fragrant herbs, lifted by youthful fermentation esters. The palate has light phenolic textures with fresh, lacy acidity providing linearity. The wine carries with good energy and drive to a thirst-quenching, dryand crisp finish with nuances of herbs and esters. This is a fresh, tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc with fragrant gooseberries, herbs and esters on a grainy palate. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit tank-fermented with 25% in seasoned barrels to 12.0% alc., and approx. 2 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees. 17.0/20 Jan 2017 RRP $20.00
