Michel Gros Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2008

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Jul-2011
From 0.2 ha, in ‘Le Grand Maupertui' lieu-dit. Softly full ruby-red in colour with some purple hues, this has an elegant, somewhat shy nose, light dark red fruit aromas a little overshadowed by spicy, bacony oak. A wine with richness of fruit, there is a complex amalgam of dark red berry, savoury spice and toasty, bacon-like oak filling the palate with flavour. Slightly elevated acidity and firm tannins provide a hard line through the palate, and 7-9 years of development are ahead.  Jul 2011
