Michel Gros Bourgogne Hauts Cotes de Nuits 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Son of Jean Gros, Michel has a reputation for strong and individual wines from his Vosne-Romanee domaine. Deep ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues. The bouquet is elegant and penetrating with perfumed dark cherry fruits, some resiny oak notes and savoury brettanomyces elements adding interest rather than corruption. Medium-full bodied, this is a firm and tightly structured wine encasing restrained dark berry fruits with subtle layers of red florals and mushroom and meaty nuances. The acidity is balanced adding to the firm drive through the palate, and the wine finishes dry. Drink over the next 3-5 years. 16.5+/20 May 2012 RRP $50.00
