McManis River Junction California Viognier 2013

Viognier from USA
Review Date : 18-Nov-2014
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a soft, voluminous, aromatic nose with orange zest and exotic florals along with apricot notes that blossom in the glass. This is fulsome and classical in varietal expression. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, lifted and juicy fruit flavours of orange zest and apricots feature on the palate with good depth and intensity. The palate is unctuous in texture, the richness balanced by refreshing, racy acidity. This has a good line, the wine carried by a very fine textures, leading to a sustained, dry finish with floral and citrus notes. This is a bright, up-front, juicy and lively Viognier with orange zest flavours. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fruit from River Junction cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. 17.5+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $23.99
