McManis California Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 31-Jul-2016
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a fresh and youthfully firm and concentrated, but bold nose of dark raspberry fruit aromas entwined with layers of violet florals and strong, spicy oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate is full-flavoured with rich and ripe flavours of dark raspberries and black cherries, with plum notes, melded with layers of spicy oak. The palate has weight and presence, with alcoholic power and concentration, and warmth and drive. The fruit richness is balanced by supple grip and structure, and the wine flows positively, carrying to a long finish of sweet dark raspberries and spicy oak. This is a fulsome Pinot Noir with rich flavours of dark raspberries with plenty of spicy ok. Match with lamb and venison dishes over the next 4+ years. Fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine undergoing equivalence of 6 months aging in new and seasoned French and American oak barrels. 17.5/20 Aug 2016 RRP $25.00
