McManis California Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 31-Aug-2015
Moderately dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on edge. The nose is initially restrained, showing fresh and bright aromas of dark raspberry and dark cherry fruit with lifted dark red florals. The aromatics build in depth, unfolding raspberry liqueur elements from whole berry fermentation and nuances of minerals. Medium-full bodied, soft, rounded, plush and juicy flavours of dark raspberries, cherries and plums form a rounded core. The mouthfeel is soft and supple with light background tannin structure and soft acidity lending a smooth, mellow flow. The wine carries effortlessly to a soft finish of raspberry and dark plum flavours. This is a soft, plush and rounded Pinot Noir with flavours of raspberries, cherries and plums. Match with pasta, risotto and poultry over the next 2-3 years. California fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., with 6 months aging in French oak equivalence. 16.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $25.00
