McManis California Petite Sirah 2015

Other Red from USA
Review Date : 30-Oct-2016
Very dark, saturated black-hued purple-red colour, very youthful in appearance. The nose is very full and up-front with bold and deeply concentrated aroma of ripe fruits, showing blackberries, boysenberries, dark raspberries, black plums, along with layers of Asia spices and cedary oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate features sweetly ripe and concentrated, juicy and opulent flavours of blackberries, boysenberries, dark raspberries, plums and liquorice melded with layers of spice and oak. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction and structure with integrated acidity, allowing the fruit to retain accessibility. The flavours of black and blue fruits, liquorice, spices and cedary oak carry to a long, lingering fulsome flavoured finish with dry, balancing textures. This is a rich, opulent up-front and accessible sweetly-fruited Petite Sirah with black and blue fruits, liquorice and spices and cedary oak on a fine-structured and concentrated palate. Match with roasted and slow cooked game meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. California fruit fermented in tank to 13.5% alc., the wine aged approx. 6 months in new and seasoned French and American oak. 18.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $25.00
