Maui Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Dec-2017
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on the edge. The nose is fresh and elegantly presented with taut aromas of pungent passionfruit with fresh herbs and nuances of nettles and cut-grass, along with mineral notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound with a slender core of passionfruit, fresh herbs and cooler spectrum cut-grass and nettle notes lifted by white florals and mineral elements. The mouthfeel is crisp and zesty with brisk acidity, and the wine flows along a fine, textural palate line. The wine is thirst-quenching and carries to a taut, lingering finish of cut-grass and nettles. This is a crisp, cooler-spectrum Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, herb and nettle flavours. Serve with shellfish and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Upper Wairau Valley cool-fermented in tank to 12.0% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Dec 2017 RRP $18.99
