Maui Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Oct-2014
Brilliant, light straw yellow colour with light green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh, up-front and open, with light gooseberry and stonefruit aromas along with delicate cut grass, nettle, mint and herb detail, along with a subtle floral lift. Dry to taste, tightly bound and elegant in proportion, this has a bright, aromatic core of gooseberry fruit with fresh herbs and florals. The wine follows a fine textured core and line, revealing good pungent passionfruit flavours on mid-palate. The mouthfeel is fresh and crisp, fading gently to a long, lacy, lively finish. This is a fresh, up-front, lacy Sauvignon Blanc with lifted florals and some passionfruit notes. Serve with seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc from the upper Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0.% alc. and 4.6 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $17.95
