Maui Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose has good volume of softly intense aromas of pungent passionfruit with fresh herb and gooseberry notes, along with mineral elements that show with harmony and richness. Dry to taste, tight and crisply expressed fruit flavours of gooseberries supported by passionfruit form a slender, elegant and fine linear palate. Slippery and racy acidity drives the pure fruit through to a tight, dry, slightly textural and flinty flavoured finish with good length. This is a tight, linear and crisp Sauvignon Blanc to serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit from the company's vineyards in the Upper Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.45% alc. and 6.1 g/L rs. 17.5/20 Nov 2012 RRP $16.95
