Maui Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of light gold, pale on rim. The nose is full and up-front with fresh yellow stonefruit and pear aromas lifted by exotic florals and honeysuckle and youthful fermentation esters, all harmoniously intermingling and presented. Off-dry to taste and elegantly concentrated, full and up-front flavours of yellow stonefruits, florals and honeysuckle feature on the palate. Some lifted esters enhance the aromatics. The mouthfeel is refreshingly lively with bright acidity alongside fine, grainy phenolic textures, providing line and drive. The wine carries to a long, lingering light-textured, dry finish with floral and esters lift. This is a refreshing, dryish, aromatic Pinot Gris with fine, dry, phenolic textures. Serve with Chinese cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6.1 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $17.95
