Maude ‘Mt Maude Vineyard’ Central Otago ‘Reserve’ Dry Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Jul-2011
Brilliant pale straw-yellow with a pale edge, this has a fine, but intense nose of lifted florals and citrus blossoms with minerally notes, balancing delicacy with depth. Dry to taste, this has soft, gentle floral and lime-fruit flavours, the palate possessing very fine textures and restrained acidity, initially, but building to provide sufficient tension and liveliness. The palate has good length and attractive floral nuances. Fruit from the ‘Mt Maude' vineyard near Wanaka, cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 5 g/L rs. A very fine and gentle textured Riesling with a softness that will make it a good aperitif, or a match with sweet shellfish and subtle Asian cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. 18.0+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $20.00
