Matua Valley ‘Single Vineyard’ Wairau Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Sep-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, this has a gentle, ripe capsicum and gooseberry nose, quite layered, with subtle and delicate lifted, pungent passionfruit aromatics adding to the presence and volume. Dry to taste, this has full, rich flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit on an open, expansive palate alongside excellent, balanced slippery acidity forming a smooth textured, but fresh mouthfeel. Fruit from the Wairau Valley cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 1.2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Full, fresh and richly fruited, this will match Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 18.0+/20 Sep 2011 RRP $29.99
