Fruit from the south side of the Awatere Valley, cool stainless-steel fermented to 14.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Bright straw-yellow colour with lemony-green hues, the bouquet is tight and powerfully intense with cutting grass, stone and mineral aromas along with hints of passionfruit, the aromatics very indicative of the Awatere. This is a powerful and dry wine with intense, concentrated grass, herb and mineral fruit flavours, showing good lusciousness and juiciness through the palate. The tightness and vibrancy from racy acidity provides excellent tension, making it a match with shellfish and creamy cheeses over the next 2-3+ years. 18.5-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $29.99
