Matua ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Oct-2015
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with some depth and pale lemon-green hues. This has a very intense and deeply packed nose of pungent passionfruit entwined with tropical fruits, sweet herbs, nettles and green capsicums, the aromatics unfolding in waves, revealing richness and depth. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, this is solidly packed with dense flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits, along with herbs, capsicums, nettles and minerals. The fruit forms a rich, concentrated core, and the wine is driven along a fine, soft-textured line. Refreshing lacy acidity provides energy and carries the fruit to a very long, mouthwatering finish with passionfruit notes. This is a very rich and deeply concentrated, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with layers of flavour and fine-textured linearity. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. Awatere Valley fruit, fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS. 400 cases made. 19.0-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $35.99
