Matua Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Apr-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is light and restrained with soft passionfruit and gooseberry aromas, revealing a little mineral flintiness in the glass Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a full and bracing palate, underlined by brisk, mouthwatering acidity. The fruit expression is restrained, with gooseberries lifted with white floral elements, unfolding some pungent passionfruit elements. The flavours and acidity are supported by fine, grainy phenolic textures which grow and carry the wine to a dry, thirst-quenching and zesty finish. This is a racy, dry, mouthwatering and textural Sauvignon Blanc with soft fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with shellfish over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.0+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $14.99
