Matua Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Mar-2015
Even, purple-hued ruby-red colour, lighter on rim. This has light, fragrant nose with cherry fruit aromas along with nuances of raspberries, red florals and herbs. Light-medium bodied, the palate features brisk, racy acidity and a lively mouthfeel carrying light, but juicy and sweet red cherry fruit. This is straightforward and fruit focussed. The fruit is underlined by restrained, supple tannins which lead to a slightly astringent, textured, acidic finish with sweet cherry notes. This is a supple, light and juicy cherryish Pinot Noir with brisk acidity. Serve with antipasto, tapas and dim sum over the next 2 years. Predominantly Marlborough fruit with a small portion from Central Otago, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged on average 6 months, on French oak. 15.5-/20 Mar 2015 RRP $14.99
