Match Book Petite Sirah 2020, California

Petite Sirah from USA
Review Date : 06-May-2022
Deep, full dark purple with ruby-red, lighter on edge. The nose is full, shows power, aromas of boysenberries, plums melded with gravel, herb and an amalgam of spice. Full-bodied, boysenberries and plums are ripe with concentration, unfolding a touch of minerals and herb, along with vanilla and nutmeg. Mouth-filling palate made up of concentrated fruit, dense yet soft tannin structure. This juicy Petite Sirah is well-structured with chewy tannins, succulent bramble, plum fruit and spices. Match with barbeque lamb and sticky ribs over the next 3-4 years. A blend of 86% Petite Sirah and 14% Petit Verdot from Dunnigan Hills AVA, fermented in stainless steel tanks to 13.9% alc, aged in a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak barrels for 16 months. 17.5+/20 pts (89 pts) May 2022 RRP $29.99
