Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the Gimblett Gravels fermented to 13.5% alc. Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with some garnet hues on rim. The nose is fresh and up-front with fruit-focussed aromas of blackcurrants, fresh herbs and stalks, with leafy and stemmy elements, unfolding a little earthiness. Medium-full bodied, fresh, and bold fruit flavours of blackcurrant leaf and cassis intermingle with stalk and herbal notes. This has a fulsome and robust mouthfeel with grainy tannin extraction and fresh, lively acidity. The flavours are up-front and recede gently, leading to a light finish with blackcurrant and herb nuances. This is a fresh, uncomplicated, robustly-textured Cabernet Sauvignon blend with cool-spectrum leaf, herb and stalk flavours.
