Matakana Estate ‘ME’ Pinot Noir Rosé Marlborough 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-May-2017
Moderately deep peach-hued copper-pink colour, lighte on the edge. This has a delicate nose with soft aromas of strawberries and red florals along with redcurrants and pomegranate notes. The aromatics grow in presence with aeration, unveiling subtle refreshing herb detail. Dry to taste, the palate features refreshing and juicy flavours of strawberries, redcurrants and pomegranate, along with gently lifted red florals. The mouthfeel is lively with crisp, lacy acidity, and the wine follows a light, dry, thirst-quenching phenolic line that carries the wine through to a light, lingering, mouthwatering finish. This is a sweet-fruited, refreshing dry rosé with flavours of strawberries, pomegranate and redcurrants with a mouthwatering palate, fresh acidity and light, dry textures. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Early-picked Pinot Noir from an Upper Wairau vineyard, fermented with a little skin contact in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS. 17.0-/20 May 2017 RRP $21.99
