Matakana Estate ‘ME’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-May-2017
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is soft and gently full with restrained aromas of gooseberry fruit along with cut grass and nettles and subtle notes of green beans, all harmoniously entwined. Medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of gooseberries, cut grass and herbs are gently sweet and light in intensity. Fresh, brisk acidity lends piquancy to the flavours, and the wine flows smoothly along a soft-textured line, carrying to a gently rich finish of gooseberries and beans. This is a soft, gently sweet gooseberry flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with notes of cut grass and beans, on a fresh, smooth-flowing palate. Match with Asian fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from a single site in the Upper Wairau, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 May 2017 RRP $21.99
