Matahiwi Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Wairarapa

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 03-Aug-2021
Bright, pale yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is fresh and aromatic, packed with green herbs, cucumber, gooseberries, stonefruit and elderflower. Medium-light bodied, dry-ish to taste, aromas of passionfruit, ripe peach melded with cucumber, herbs and a hint of elderflower. The palate is clean and refreshing with a lick of mineral and a cooling cucumber sensation; buoyant and fluid acidity carries delicate floral and vibrant fruit to a crisp finish. This Sauvignon Blanc is full of brightness and aromatics. Match with goat's cheese tarts and steamed mussels over the next 2-3 years. Cool fermented to 12.5% alc, 3 g/l RS, short period lees ageing. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) Aug 2021 RRP $22.99
