Hand-picked fruit from older vineyards, fermented in tank with 25% in mainly seasoned oak with indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 4 months on lees. Brilliant, very pale straw-yellow with some green hues, near colourless on edge. The nose is delicately detailed with aromas of gooseberries, savoury yellow stonefruits, capsicums, herbs and tropical fruits. The aromatics are fine and fresh in presentation. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, a tight core of green stonefruits, piquant herbs and spice flavours are entwined with sweet gooseberry and tropical fruit notes. This is elegantly concentrated with good line. The fruit sweetness is balanced by soft, dry textures and thirst-quenching acidity that leads to a refined finish. This is a tight and finely structured oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with subtle fruit richness. Serve with seafood, poultry and Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3+ years.
