Syrah from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 02-May-2011
Black hued purple-red in colour, this has an very intense nose, featuring striking aromatics of white and black pepper, black fruits and lifted florals. Fine-featured on the palate, there is plenty of intensity and depth to the black fruits. The pepperiness points to the inclusion of around 5% Viognier co-fermented, lifting the fruitiness. Good acidity is another result of its inclusion, and adds to the linear style. This has a very long, sustained finish. Apr 2011
