Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The nose is soft and full with a good core of lime fruit harmoniously melded with notes of honey, lifted jasmine florals and hints of talc and musk botrytis, alongside steely herb nuances. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, the palate features flavours of limes integrated with exotic florals and honey, along with musk elements. The mouthfeel is poised with subtle richness and unctuousness balanced by fine fruit extract textures and mouthwatering lacy acidity. This has gentle drive and linearity that carries the wine to a soft, lingering finish of limes, honey and florals. This is a softly poised medium Riesling with exotic lime, floral and honied flavours and a rich, but fresh palate. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the 27 y.o. ‘Jackson’ block, hand-picked with a small amount of botrytised fruit, WBP and cool-fermented to 11.5% alc. and 14 g/L RS, TA 5.8 g/L and pH 3.11. 18.5-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $28.00
