Martinborough Vineyard ’30 Year Anniversary’ Pinot Noir 2005

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 07-Feb-2011
A wine showing development in colour and expression of full forest floor, mushroom and savoury elements. Rich and full-bodied, but with depth and a rounded, solid core, layers of flavours opened up. I remember seeing this as a proposed ‘Marie Zelie' a few years ago. The Martinborough Vineyard team decided against that designation. I agree now, as the wine has a forward nature and ultra-complex nuances that border on funkiness. The wine is a very good one that is a worthy marker for three decades of top wines. At a RRP of $100.00, it is worth it.  Nov 2010
