Marquis d’Angerville ‘Monopole’ Volnay 1er ‘Clos des Ducs’ 2008

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Even, deep garnet red colour. The bouquet is tightly concentrated with an intense core of dark red cherry fruit infused with earth, minerals and delicate nuances of oak and savoury game. The expression on nose is somewhat restrained, but very stylish and classical. Medium-full bodied, very fine and tautly concentrated flavours of dark cherries, minerals and a little oak resin form a firm core. The tannin extraction is very fine-grained, with bright, fresh acidity also carrying the palate line. This has a very refined and very long and sustained finish with cut and great elegance. A Volnay of great class, elegance and taut structure. It will develop over the next 8-10+ years. From 2.15 ha, stony soils, vines up to 60 y.o. 19.0-/20 Feb 2014 RRP $150.00
