Marques de Tezona Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo 2014

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 19-Nov-2015
Dark, moderately deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on rim. The nose is softly concentrated with good depth and intensity of ripe, dark-red berry fruit melded with subtle layers of herbs and minerals, revealing a suggestion of reductive elements. Medium-bodied, the palate features bright, sweet and juicy flavours of red cherry and berry fruit. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively, with crisp acidity enlivening the fruitiness. Fine, grainy tannins lend an elegant line, and the wine flows with energy, unveiling herb, mineral and raspberry jam notes, as it carries to a dry-textured, acid-tinged finish. This is an elegant, bright and juicy, red cherry-fruited Tempranillo with fresh acidity and a grainy line. Match with antipasto, pasta and barbecued fare over the next 2-3+ years. Hand-picked fruit, 95% Tempranillo and 5% Syrah, predominantly bush vines in Castilla La Mancha, fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Jorge Garcia Cuenca. 16.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $20.00
