Marques de Tezona Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo 2013

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 18-Nov-2014
Dark, deep purple-hued ruby-red, lighter on rim and youthful in appearance. This has a fresh, elegant and tightly bound nose with aromas of ripe black berry and raspberry fruit, along with violet florals and some minerally reduction. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, up-front bright dark red berry fruits are lifted by floral notes and enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, lending plushness to the mouthfeel. The fruit follows a fine-grained tannin line flowing with good energy and drive and the wine leads to a dry, sinewy finish with nuances of raspberries and minerals. This is a bright and lively Tempranillo with a fresh, grainy, sinewy mouthfeel. Serve with pizza, barbecued fare and most red meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit, 95% Tempranillo and 5% Syrah, predominantly bush vines in Castilla La Mancha, fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Jorge Garcia Cuenca. 17.0/20 Nov 2014 RRP $17.99
