Marques de Tezona Tempranillo 2011

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 20-Aug-2013
Very dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is softly deep with restrained, but ripe black berried fruit intermingling with leather, herb and earthy elements. Medium-bodied, the fruit is a little shy, with gently mouthfilling, uncomplicated flavours of dark plums, berries and subtle, rustic earthy notes. The palate features soft, mellow tannins that build with depth and presence. The acidity is low, enhancing a soft mouthfeel but emerges on the finish to carry the flavours to a mouthwatering, dry finish. This is a soft, plummy Spanish Tempranillo country red with earthy flavours. Match with pizza, pasta and barbecued food over the next 3+ years. 95% Tempranillo and 5% Shiraz from Castilla la Mancha, hand-picked and fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $17.99
