Margrain ‘Proprietor’s Selection’ Martinborough Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 17-Jan-2013
Fruit from the ‘Margrain' vineyard from vines 5-10 y.o., fermented to 11.5% alc. and 16 g/L rs. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is very fine and elegant, with tightly bound and delicate aromas of lime zest and lemonade entwined with toast notes and a little sulphide reduction that dissipates with time in glass. Medium to medium-dry to taste, refined lime, lemon, toast and mineral flavours show with richness, the textures soft and smooth in flow. Balanced acidity provides a mouthwatering cut and line for the palate, carrying through to a soft, gently luscious finish with secondary flavours of toast and honey. This is a medium Riesling with delicate flavours of lemons and complex secondary toasty notes to serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0-/20 Jan 2013 RRP $24.00
