Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is tight and a little shy, showing fresh, mouthwatering aromas of cut grass, green capsicums and nettles, along with herbal and subtle lantana nuances, the fruit in the cooler spectrum. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, bright fruit flavours of grass and nettles are entwined with herbal elements and form a tight core with depth. The mouthfeel is crisp and brisk with refreshing acidity enlivening the fruit and driving the wine along a fine, phenolic, textural line. The palate carries to a long dry finish with some grip and fresh nettle and herb notes. This is a refreshingly crisp Sauvignon Bland with deep grassy and nettle-like fruit flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘River Block’ and from the town vineyard fermented in stainless-steel to 11.8% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $24.00
