Margrain Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 17-Jan-2013
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is soft and full with aromas of luscious gooseberries, fresh herbs and tropical fruits with nuances of honeysuckle, revealing hints of asparagus and capsicums. Dryish to taste, this has a concentrated core of luscious gooseberry flavours entwined with herbs, tropical fruits and lime-confectionary. Soft in texture, crisp acidity provides a drying counterpoint to the fruitiness and sweetness, which leads to a dry, granular finish with bright gooseberry, grassy flavours and a hint of bean. This is a lush, gooseberry-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with sweet nuances but a dry finish. Match with vegetables and salads as well as Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Stainless-steel fermented to 13.2% alc. and 8.0 g/L rs. 17.0/20 Jan 2013 RRP $24.00
