Margrain Martinborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 07-Sep-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues, lighter on edge. The bouquet is full and concentrated with packed aromas of savoury yellow stonefruits entwined with complex nutty, waxy, minerally lees notes along with lifted exotic floral and apricot kernel elements. Dry ti taste and medium-full bodied, deep and concentrated flavours of savoury white and yellow stonefruits form a strong and positive core. Waxy, nutty and leesy mineral detail adds interest. Some alcohol drive emerges along with fine, drying phenolic textures that carry the wine to a soft, dry finish, enlivened by light acidity. This is a full-bodied Pinot Gris with savoury stonefruit and waxy, minerally detail and a soft, drying finish. Serve with white meat dishes over the next 4+ years. Primarily fermented in tank with a portion in seasoned oak to 14.0% alc. and dryness, the wine aged 9 months on full lees. 17.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $24.00
