Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light, green-gold hues. The bouquet is full and deep with complex interwoven aromas of white stonefruits and savoury nuts, revealing nuances of barrel-ferment, oxidative elements and reductive notes. Medium-bodied, the flavours are stylishly restrained, but form a tight and firmly concentrated core with white stonefruits and mealy, nutty notes. Subtle and detailed mineral and oxidative facets add complexing flavours. The palate has drive and power, with good acid energy and liveliness which carries the flavours to a taut, lingering finish with stonefrruit and nutty notes. This is a white burgundy look-alike Chardonnay with complex stonefruit and nutty flavours. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 4-5 years. Fully barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine was aged 11 months in approx. 5% new French oak, undergoing batonnage. 18.0-/20 Aug 2013 RRP $28.00
