Margrain Martinborough Botrytis Selection Riesling 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 17-Jan-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, pale on rim. The nose is finely intense with gentle aromas of lime fruits, honey and nuances of toast entwined with talc botrytis. Very sweet to taste, this is elegantly proportioned with rich and concentrated flavours of lime, talc-like botrytis, honey and toast. The flavours are enlivened and enhanced by racy acidity, with a slight phenolic texture providing a drying balance along the palate line. The palate has drive which carries through to a stylish and restrained finish featuring lime and honey notes. This is an elegant Riesling dessert wine with richness and raciness and a textural linearity. Serve with fruit desserts over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from 6 y.o. vines from the ‘Chifney' block, mainly shrivelled with moderate botrytis influence. Approx. 10.0% alc. and 88 g/L rs. (375 ml) 18.5+/20 Jan 2013 RRP $38.00
