Map Maker Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The nose is elegantly proportioned with good depth and intensity of pungent passionfruit aromas forming a fine core with integrated nuances of tropical fruits, fresh herbs and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses bright and refreshingly vibrant flavours of passionfruit along with tropical fruits and herbs, forming a firm and concentrated heart. The mouthfeel is zest and mouthwatering with brisk acidity and the wine flows along a light, dry, grainy-textured phenolic line. The wine carries with good drive and energy to a long, lingering, textured finish with passionfruit notes. This is a bright and lively, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with pungent passionfruit flavours following a grainy phenolic line. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 5% in barrel to 13.0% alc., some of the tank portions aged up to 4 months on lees. 17.5-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $18.00
