Map Maker Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jan-2014
Hand-picked estate fruit, WBP and fermented with solids, 40% in old puncheons and 60% in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6 g/L RS. Bright pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with pure and tight aromas of white stonefruits and refreshing, clean minerally elements. This has excellent intensity and unfolds hints of exotic florals and honeysuckle in the glass. Off-dry to taste, finely expressed, luscious stonefruit flavours are enhanced by exotic floral notes and honey. The fruit is up-front and mouthwatering from crisp acidity. This is well-balanced on palate. Some alcohol power provides good drive and carries the flavours to a lingering, dry finish with ethereal stonefruit nuances. This is a crisp, driven off-dry Pinot Gris with beautifully lush fruit and exotic nuances. Match with white meats and Chinese cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 18.0/20 Jan 2014 RRP $20.00
