Maori Point Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 21-Dec-2021
Bright, ruby-red with good transparency, slightly lighter on edge. The nose is fragrant, softly filling the glass with deep aromas of cherries, blackberries, interwoven with abundant spice, chocolate, dark herb. Medium-bodied, creamy on the palate, vibrant fruit of cherries and blackberries entwined with raspberries and dark herb; backed up by nutmeg, pepper and cinnamon. Silky, supple tannin left an ethereal mouthfeel, supported by lacy, vigorous acidity, providing lightness to the palate. Spices grow and linger with a hint of chocolate to a long and very moreish finish. This is a delicate Pinot Noir with succulent fruit, herb and spice details on an ethereal, silky mouthfeel. Match with game bird and pork chops over the next 5+ years. Fermented with natural yeasts to 13.9% alc, unfined, unfiltered. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Dec 2021 RRP $43
