Maori Point Pinot Gris 2022, Central Otago

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 25-Jul-2022
Bright, even, pale straw yellow. This has a fine, rich bouquet, softly releasing aromas of pear, apple and apricot underlying honey and white florals. Medium-bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of apple and pear have a pure core, melded with apricot, honey and white florals. The fruit is ripe with good concentration. Sweetness contributed to weight and a creamy balance, left with a moreish linger. This off-dry Pinot Gris shows succulent fruit of pear and apple with pretty white flowers and honey enrichment on a soft palate. Match with Pad Thai and chicken satay over the next 3-5 years. Part fermented in stainless steel and part fermented in old French oak barrels, weekly lees stirred, 12.2% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) July 2022 RRP $26.95
