Chardonnay from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 15-Jul-2024
Bright, even, pale yellow gold with a light green sheen. The nose is delicate with aromas of stonefruit, lemon sherbet, pineapple, a hint of floral and vanilla. Medium-full bodied, aromas of peach and nectarine melded with lemon sherbet, pineapple, unfolding blossom, vanilla, saline and a hint of raw almond. The enlivening acid spine carries subtle spice and zest, cutting through a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lingering to a long and pure finish. The fruit was sourced from a neighbouring vineyard in Bendigo, fermented with wild yeasts in oak barrels, primarily French, with one American and one Romanian oak, and aged for one year, full MLF. Unfined, unfiltered. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Jul 2024 RRP $56
