Maori Point Central Otago Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 10-Dec-2015
Fruit from the neighbouring ‘Swallows Crossing’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 12 g/L RS, TA 8 g/L and pH 2.88, 40% of the wine aged 10 weeks in neutral oak. Brilliant, very pale straw with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. This has a finely presented, penetrating nose of lime fruit, while florals and notes of toasty and minerally complexities. There are suggestions of secondary interest, but the aromatics remain delicately steely and refreshing. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tightly held, but softly rounded core with flavours of lime, lemonade, white florals and minerals, along with toasty development hints. Fine phenolic textures underline the palate core and along with tight acidity guides the wine as it flows to an elegantly concentrated, long and sustained finish of citrus fruits, minerals and toast. This is a tightly bound, fine-featured dry Riesling with lime, mineral and toasty flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4-5+ years. 17.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $26.00
